Republic endorses John Shadegg
By Wally EdgeSaying "Shadegg is a throwback: A conservative lawmaker who acts like one. If the GOP had more like him, it wouldn't be in the mess it is right now," Arizona'a largest newspaper the Arizona Republic endorsed John Shadegg over his Democratic challenger Bob Lord in this weekend's editorial. In a gushing editorial the paper says "if scientists were to construct a prototypical conservative lawmaker who could withstand the enormous pressures of Washington, D.C., to change, Shadegg would be the model for it." What will conservatives do now, as they like to claim the Republic never endorses conservatives.
