Prop 300

There are numerous propositions on Arizona's ballot this November getting plenty of attention. One that is not receiving much attention is Proposition 300.

Proposition 300 would give lawmakers a long overdue pay-raise from $24,000 to $30,000. If passed, the pay increase would be the first raise lawmakers have received in a decade.

Since 1998 voters have had the chance to increase lawmakers pay four time and all four times the measure was defeated. The increase may be a hard sell for lawmakers this year as the Arizona budget once again faces a deficit in a lagging economy.
