McCain can't clinch until March 4

With Mitt Romney throwing his 286 delegates behind Sen. John McCain today, the Republican presidential frontrunner is now a mere 78 delegates shy of clinching the nomination.

However, his rival Mike Huckabee, who must win somewhere around 98% of the remaining delegates to take the nomination from McCain, has vowed to stay in the fight until the race is officially over.  read more »

Romney will endorse McCain

CNN is reporting that Mitt Romney will formally endorse Sen. John McCain today at a press conference in Boston, Mass.

Dana Bash, correspondent for CNN, reported just now that fmr. Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will hold a press conference at 3:30 EST this afternoon to throw his support behind Republican presidential frontrunner John McCain.
