Grijalva jumps on Obama bandwagon

Democratic U.S. Representative Raul Grijalva today said that he had decided to switch his presidential endorsement from John Edwards to Barack Obama because “this is an election that needs to be won,” and that Obama offered the best opportunity to change the direction of the country.

“I respect (Edwards). He’s a decent man,” Grijalva said.

Democratic Congressman Raul Grijavla (AZ-7) has switched his endorsement from John Edwards to Senator Barack Obama.  Rumor is Edwards is allowing his committed supporters to switch to other candidates.  And how exactly does Edwards intend to play “kingmaker” if he releases all his delegates?

AZ poll finds Clinton, McCain leading

A poll conducted by the Behavior Research Center finds Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican John McCain leading their respective fields in Arizona, the AP reports.

On the Democratic side, Clinton picks up 38%, followed by Barack Obama with 32% and John Edwards with 16%.

The endorsement game, what does I mean to campaigns? When an elected official endorses a candidate does it help? Most people believe they have little effect on the outcome of an election, candidate’s sure do like them. Well if they are any indication then based on the ones we have been able to confirm John McCain has a good lead in Arizona and Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are in a close race.

McCain and Clinton lead in Arizona

Despite Governor Janet Napolitano’s endorsement of Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton still leads in the latest Arizona presidential preference poll by a margin of 30-17 with John Edwards garnering only 5%. When you factored in which way voters were leaning Clinton lead 45-17.

On the Republican side John McCain lead Mitt Romney 28% to 10% with 3% going to Mike Huckabee and 2% to Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul. When you include which way voters were leaning McCain lead 41% to Romney’s 18%.

McCain and Clinton claim NH Primary victories

During the last 24 hours before the NH Primary all the talk was of a Mitt Romney last minute surge and a Barack Obama continued surge that would lead to a double-digit on the Democratic side.

John McCain and Hillary Clinton were able to stun the pundits and pull off wins in last nights first in the nation primary.

Early NH voting gives McCain lead

Dixville Notch and Hart’s Location NH have a tradition of being the first towns in NH to vote. Both small locations open their polls at midnight and are usually done voting by 12:02 am.

The results from the 2 towns are as follows

Mike Huckabee 5
