The Arizona Democratic Party released a statement Monday night expressing sadness at the passing of Scottsdale attorney and former Maricopa County supervisor candidate Joel Sinclaire.
"We are saddened to hear of Joel Sinclaire's death," read the statement. "Joel was a dedicated public servant who was committed to improving our community.Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We also ask that his family's privacy be respected during this difficult time."
Sinclaire, who failed to upset incumbent District 2 Maricopa County Supervisor Don Stapley on Nov. 4, was discovered dead in his Scottsdale home on Sunday. He was 46.
