I'm an American Lawman. That means I am obligated to protect your rights, not use my authority to abuse them. The question today is “What's wrong with the sheriff's office?” There's plenty wrong. Sixteen years of failure have led to more than $43 million of tax payer dollars paid out in lawsuits because of neglect and abuse. Arpaio says that's the cost of doing business. That's no excuse! In my opinion that's bad business and it's unacceptable.

TEMPE, Ariz. – Former Arizona House Majority Leaders Ernie Baird, Lori Daniels and Steve Tully today announced that they have endorsed former legislator Laura Knaperek in the race for the Republican nomination in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District.

The current Sheriff wasn’t doing his job of serving warrants, so the Governor had to step in and do it. That’s a shame because sheriffs have always taken responsibility for serving them. Here’s a little history to back up my claim.

Five years ago today, President Bush landed on the deck of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln and declared that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended" in front of an enormous banner that read, "Mission Accomplished." Around that same time, John McCain said "it's clear that the end is very much in sight."
