In Maricopa County Attorney money race, Richard brings up the rear

Gerald Richard: Campaign photoGerald Richard: Campaign photoGerald Richard ended the first half of the year with just over $40,000 on hand, lagging far behind his primary rival Tim Nelson and incumbent Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

However, Thomas had the weakest quarter of the three. He managed a relatively slim $39,750.03 for the period from January 1 through May 31, while Richard pulled in $60,004.75. Despite his poorer showing, Thomas is still the leader in the field. He came into the reporting period with over $200k, and has $213,599.12 on hand to start June.

The big winner this quarter was Tim Nelson, who pulled in nearly $207k from April to the end of June. With no money to start with, he has now come within $37k of Thomas's total, finishing May with $177,463.03.

"These numbers are so weak, they all but announce the chum is in the shark pool," said Joshua Kilroy, Nelson's campaign manager, of Tim Nelson's fundraising.

Doug Ramsey, Richard's campaign spokesman, said doesn't think the discrepancy is a cause for concern.

"We're going ahead with the plan we had when we started the campaign," he told PolitickerAZ.com. The Richard campaign has said it doesn't expect to be able to outraise Nelson, but will have enough to run a "credible campaign."

CLARIFICATION: Tim Nelson campaign manager Joshua Kilroy has clarified that his remark "the chum is in the shark pool" was made in reference to Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas's fundraising numbers, not Gerald Richard's as originally reported.

wow gold

Out of the gate, the thoroughbred who leads too early and by wow gold too great a margin is more often than not the

vulnerable one, the one in danger of losing it all to the horse who strategically holds back, waits, and then thunders in the final furlongs to finish first.
Obama's political guru, David Axelrod, buy wow gold and his Chicago-based firm, AKP&D lay it out on their Web site. "We win

tough races. . . . campaigns no one thought could be won," it states. "The governor who came from 20 points behind" . . . (Iowa's Tom Vilsack). "The

incumbent mayor who came back from 20 points down in only 20 days"

Question for the trolls

What I'd like to know is how much money Tim Nelson is paying to have people like "Pluto" and "Foxy" (assuming it's not the same person) post comments on every blog in Arizona to say they're voting for their employer.

Campaign Finances

I think the fact that these Democratic candidates have been able to raise so much money compared to an incumbent opponent who has the ubiquitous self-promoting billboards around town shows just how eager the people of this county are to see Thomas go. Tim Nelson seems to have marshaled the resources necessary to defeat Thomas. Given that, as well as his experience in legal practice and government administration, he gets my vote!

Crappy?

Money raised doesn't determine who is crappy or not. I guaruntee you that Andrew Thomas wins by atleast 8pts.

It really says something

It really says something about how crappy Andrew Thomas is, when both Democratic challengers raise more money. Both would be much better than Thomas, but I really like Tim Nelson.
