New Political Action Committee Announces Its Official Launch

Release Date: May 5 2008

PHOENIX, ARIZONA – May 5, 2008 – AZ School Works, a Political Action Committee (AZSW-PAC), is holding its official Launch Party and Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Fair Trade Café in downtown Phoenix.

AZ School Works is a new website based “education policy watchdog” founded by educators, community leaders and parents.  The “grassroots organization” updates voters on legislation impacting education and works to elect candidates who are committed to reforming and strengthening Arizona’s public schools.  It is also a place to exchange ideas, engage in policy discussion, advocate for solutions, and expose wasteful spending.

AZ School Works Founder and Chairman Jason Williams states, “AZ School Works is for everyone who is serious about improving our public education system.  We need to make sure that all of Arizona’s children are moving forward, and one good way of doing this is by educating and activating people. Creating an information and communication center for the community will help to do just that.  We also need to get people who are serious about improving public education elected to public office, and AZ School Works will help in that arena as well.”

AZ School Works founders are Jason Williams (2006 Democratic Nominee for Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction), Kevin Spidel (community leader), Tiffany Troidl (Creighton Elementary School District Governing Board Member), Jerry Duff (parent and political organizer) and Joseph Losada (parent and community leader).

AZ School Works is a non-profit organization.
